Delete or restore a borrower or loan

What a delete takes with it, how Undo works, and how to bring a borrower or a loan back within 90 days.

A borrower

To delete a borrower, open Borrowers, select them, choose Edit, then Delete borrower. Their loans, with the payments and due dates on those loans, leave your ledger with them, and those loans' reminders stop.

Changed your mind? The Borrower deleted message has an Undo button for a few seconds.

Later, open Recently deleted below the Borrowers list and choose Restore. The borrower comes back with what the delete took, each as it was: a skipped installment stays skipped, a voided payment stays voided. A loan you deleted on its own before stays deleted: restore it from Loans.

A restore never puts two borrowers under one Reddit name. If someone on your ledger has the name now, as their name or an alt, the restore stops and names them: rename or delete that one first. An alt another borrower has taken since stays with them.

You can restore a borrower for 90 days after deleting them.

One loan

To delete one loan, open Loans and choose the trash icon on its row. Its payments and due dates leave your ledger with it, and its reminders stop. The Loan deleted message has an Undo button for a few seconds.

Later, open Recently deleted below the Loans list and choose Restore. The loan comes back as it was, with its payments and due dates.

If you have deleted the loan's borrower since, restore the borrower first: Open Borrowers takes you there. Then restore the loan. Loans that went with a deleted borrower aren't listed on Loans; they come back when you restore the borrower.

You can restore a loan for 90 days after deleting it.
